Our combination of medical expertise and patient support has earned us an accreditation by the American College of Surgeons as a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program – the highest designation available outside of an academic environment.

Darci Gaiotti-Grubbs, MD

Board Certified in Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine

Dr. Darci Gaiotti-Grubbs joined the C.R. Wood Cancer Center in 2009 and was named Chair of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for Clinical Research in 2011 and Director of the Genetics Program in 2017. She serves as Registry Quality Coordinator of the Cancer Committee and Chair of the Ethics Committee, as well as the Physician Champion for clinical research for breast cancer.

Dr. Gaiotti-Grubbs received a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Williams College in Massachusetts. After attending medical school at SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine, she completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine from New York University Medical Center and a Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Aqeel Gillani joined the C.R. Wood Cancer Center in 2004 and has served as the Director of the Clinical Research Program since 2014.  He is an active member of the Physician Advisory Group for Computerized Physician Order Entry & Electronic Medical Records as well as the Blood Transfusion Committee. He also serves as the Physician Champion for clinical research for lung cancer.

Dr. Gillani attended medical school at Dow University of Health Science in Karachi, Pakistan and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Michigan State University’s Kalamazoo center. His fellowship, in Hematology and Medical Oncology, was completed at University of Vermont in Burlington.

Dr. Christopher Mason joined the C.R. Wood Cancer Center in 2016 and is an active member of the Cancer Committee, as the Cancer Liaison and Medical Oncologist. He is the Physician Champion for clinical research for hematologic cancers (lymphoma and myeloma) and serves on the Board of Directors for the Glens Falls Hospital Foundation.

Dr. Mason received his Bachelor of Science from SUNY Buffalo and his Master of Medical Science from Drexel University College of Medicine. He attended New York College of Osteopathic Medicine before completing an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Hofstra North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System, where he also completed his fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology.

Dr. John Stoutenburg joined the C.R. Wood Cancer Center in 2005, becoming Associate Medical Director in 2013 and Medical Director in 2015. He currently serves as the Chair of the Cancer Committee and is an active member of the Medical Group Steering Committee and Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee. Dr. Stoutenburg is the Physician Champion for clinical research for genitourinary and gynecological cancers.

Dr. Stoutenburg received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from SUNY Binghamton, and went on to SUNY Upstate for Medical School. Dr. Stoutenburg completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, followed by a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Columbia University Medical Center in New York.

Dr. Charles Yun joined the C.R. Wood Cancer Center in 2015 and serves as the Coordinator for Provider and Staff Education. He is also the Alternate for the Cancer Liaison, Medical Oncologist for the Cancer Committee and Physician Champion for clinical research for gastrointestinal cancers.

Dr. Yun received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Rutgers University and attended medical school at the Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. He then attended SUNY Downstate Medical Center, for both a residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology.
