Urgent Care at Cambridge Medical Center provides an important way for people across the region to receive prompt, walk-in care for non-life-threatening injuries or illnesses. This service is especially helpful when your primary care provider is not available and a drive to Glens Falls Hospital’s Emergency Department is not necessary.

Urgent Care is medical care given without an appointment for health concerns that arise suddenly but that are not life-threatening, such as:

  • lacerations requiring a few minor stitches
  • strains and sprains
  • cold and flu symptoms, a sore throat or earache
  • gastrointestinal symptoms of a non-severe nature
  • minor injuries
  • urinary tract infections
  • fevers in adults and older children

Urgent Care is not intended for life-threatening situations. If you have any question as to the severity of an injury or illness, please call 911 immediately. Symptoms requiring 911-level care include:

  • chest pain
  • stroke-like symptoms (weakness in an arm/leg or side of the body, difficulty speaking or other alterations in someone’s level of alertness or mental functioning)
  • sudden or severe shortness of breath
  • cuts resulting in severe bleeding
  • severe abdominal pain
  • significant trauma resulting in visible distortion of a body part

Your Story is our Story - Glens Falls Hospital "The moment my husband, mother and I walked into the Cancer Center I knew this was the place I was meant to be. Vickie was a tremendous help to us in our darkest days. I then went on to meet with Dr. Stoutenburg. I knew the moment I met him that he was the one who was going to save my life."
