Specimen Stability Information

Transport at room temperature. Culturette or E-swabs are stable for 48 hours after collection. *NOTE* Specimens that do not meet the above criteria will be rejected.

Special Instructions

Specimens must be labeled with complete source and body site information. This test is designed to screen for known or suspected carrier states of Vancomycin Resistant Enterococcus only. Susceptibility testing is not routinely performed.

Performing Laboratory

7 a.m. – 9 p.m.. Turn around time is 2 days.
