Specimen Type
- Arthropods should be placed in a clean, sealed container. A small amount of 70% ethanol may be added. Transport at room temperature. Specimens in ethanol can be stored at room temperature for up to a month.
- Skin scrapings for scabies mites must be placed directly into a small amount of 70% ethanol in a clean, sealed container. Transport at room temperature. Specimens can be stored at room temperature for up to a month.

Intact ticks, lice or bedbugs. Skin scraping for scabies mites.
Specimen Stability Information
Transport at room temperature. Specimens in ethanol remain stable for up to one month.
Performing Laboratory
Specimens are sent to LabCorp for testing.
