Acetone

The BioRex Lab K-Check Tablet semi-quantitative assay is used to test for the presence of ketones (acetoacetic acid) in serum.  Acetoacetic acid in serum will form a colored complex with nitroprusside in the presence of glycine. The presence of ketone bodies is important in the evaluation of carbohydrate metabolism.
