Glens Falls Hospital is the first site in the United States to be activated for a COVID-19 Study: A Phase 2, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Parallel-group, Multi-center Study of an Inhaled Pan-Janus Kinase Inhibitor, TD-0903, to Treat Symptomatic Acute Lung Injury Associated with COVID-19.
The Sponsor of this study, Theravance Biopharma Ireland Limited, is developing a new investigational drug to treat acute lung injury (ALI) associated with COVID-19. The aim of this study is to determine whether the drug may help treat lung injury and breathing difficulties in participants admitted to the hospital with COVID-19. The ongoing study will recruit approximately 200 participants overall at sites in multiple countries including the United States. The Glens Falls Hospital site will be responsible for several participants in the trial – the first patient was enrolled in the program this week.
Dr. Bill Papura, Associate Chief Medical Officer, is GFH’s Principal Investigator of the study, which is a collaborative effort between the pharmacy, laboratory and respiratory therapy departments.
