BEARLY ILL

Children staying at in the BEARLY ILL dedicated day care program for children with minor illnesses can chose from a library of books, movies and videos games to pass the time.

Day care for children with minor illnesses

Your child has the sniffles or a sore throat. She’s too sick to go to school or day care, and — as much as you want to —  your work schedule won’t allow you to stay home with her.

Rest assured she’ll get plenty of rest and lots of care with “Bearly Ill,” Glens Falls Hospital’s dedicated day care program for children with minor illnesses. Here’s more:

bullet

”Bearly Ill” is open 24 hours per day, including weekends and holidays, for children ages two months to 12 years.  An hourly fee is payable at the time your child is picked up.

bullet

Children are cared for according to parents’ written instructions.

bullet

The minimum length of stay is three hours.

bullet

Parents are asked to bring in supplies from home, such as medications, clothing, diapers, bottles and infant formula, and, of course, your child’s favorite toy.

bullet

Parents are encouraged to bring in your child’s favorite foods. A light meal can be purchased for a nominal fee.

bullet

Medications must be provided in their original containers and labeled with the child’s name, drug dose, frequency, route and date.

bullet

A child cannot be accepted at “Bearly Ill” if he/she has been exposed to or has chicken pox, measles or mumps. Children with red rashes that have not been diagnosed by their doctor as non-contagious also cannot be accepted.

bullet

Parents are requested to make a reservation at least one hour before needing the program.  Please note occasionally our inpatient rooms are full and may not be able to accommodate.

bullet

An up-to-date immunization record must accompany the pre-registration form

bullet

A parent’s social security number will be used to identify the child at departure time.
