Annual Parade of Baskets

The Guild’s largest annual
fund-raiser is the Parade of Baskets.
This past year, the
Guild hosted its 10th annual Parade of Baskets on Sunday,
September 10, 2006 at the Glens Falls
Civic Center, One Civic Center Plaza, in downtown Glens Falls.
During the event, attendees received 25
raffle tickets for their paid admission for the chance of winning
more than 150 ‘themed’ baskets donated by Glens Falls Hospital
volunteers, departments and local businesses and community members.
Additional raffle tickets could be
purchased at 25 tickets for $5. Baskets stocked with goodies
appealing to all tastes and interests include gardening, the beach,
fishing and gourmet foods. Basket winners must be present to win.

In addition to the Parade of Baskets raffles, participants could also
enter two special raffles during the event. The Guild raffled a
pair of 21-speed, Trek hybrid bicycles from Rick’s Bike Shop in
Queensbury, won by Theresa Marro and Troy Pratt.
Doris Sikorak won a framed print entitled Bloom Again, a photograph
taken and donated by local artist Bobby Dick of a Hibiscus flower
blooming proudly in front of the Twin Towers. The print is framed in
a rich, burled wood frame with double matting and measures 27" x
39". The bicycle raffle
drawing occurred during the Parade of
Baskets; the Bloom Again raffle was held on the fifth anniversary of the World Trade
Center tragedy on Monday, Sept. 11.
Parade of Basket tickets are $10 and are available in advance in the
Glens Falls Hospital Volunteer Office or the Hospitality Shop or at
the door. An admission ticket is required for all children. For more
