Admissions Process

All admission materials and components (including application, transcripts, essay, and clinical observation) must be received and completed no later than March 1st of the year the applicant requests consideration for admission.

The Following is Required for Each Admission:

The following is to be submitted first.

  • Application: Submit an application with a $25 non-refundable application fee. To download the Application Form, please click here.

The following can be completed in any order after application submission.

  • Transcripts: Submit all official high school and college transcripts demonstrating completion of:
    • at the minimum, 15 post-secondary education credit-hours of general education (Math, science with a lab, psychology, sociology, and English composition) completed with a 'C' (satisfactory) or better. Priority is given to those who have completed degrees.
  • Clinical Observation: All prospective students need to schedule a department visit once an application is submitted. The department visit is to provide the prospective student an opportunity to see the profession in a live environment, offer an opportunity to meet current students and ask questions, and should allow for the prospective student to determine if the environment is one that can be conducive to the student's learning style. The department visit is conducted Monday through Friday 8-11:30, as schedules of faculty will allow. A department visit can scheduled by calling 518-926-3788.
  • Essay: An essay (Font size 12, 1.5 spacing) to include, but not limited to, research of the profession, motivating factor for choosing the medical imaging profession, aspirations and goals, what you consider to be characteristics of a professional, and what you hope to gain from the profession.

The following is completed after the program has contacted the prospective student.

  • Interview: Based on the preceding items, the Admissions Committee will determine which prospective students will be selected for personal interviews. A letter of invitation will be mailed to these prospective students listing the dates interviews can be scheduled. Those who are invited will meet with the Admissions Committee to discuss their application materials and their reasons for wanting to attend the Glens Falls Hospital School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Physical Assessment: Glens Falls Hospital's Center for Occupational Health determines final acceptance, once the Admissions Committee selects applicants for admission. The student must pass pre-enrollment screening including, immunizations, physical examination, substance abuse screening, etc., in order to be accepted into school.
