The number of patients receiving dialysis treatment from Glens Falls Hospital has grown
tremendously since the service was first offered in 1980. Seven patients utilized the service at that time, compared to

Dialysis Center Spotlight: Kathy Andersen
Kathy Andersen, R.N., has enjoyed caring for patients at
Glens Falls Hospital for 32 years, but she says the past 19 years have been the most rewarding - in our Outpatient Renal Center.
"I fell in love with it," says Kathy, who joined the Center as a staff nurse and
was appointed its director in 2000. "We see the same patients and get to know them. We know their families. It's nice to be very focused on the patient, but also know that they are able to go home and lead relatively normal lives."
"My heart is here," Kathy says. "I'll be here for a long time. Working with good people - patients and staff - is so rewarding."
Kathy's love for her work, concern for her patients and respect for her colleagues were rewarded
in 2000, as she was presented the Hospital's
inaugural People Leadership Award for demonstrating outstanding communication skills and inspiring trust and cooperation among Hospital employees.
Kathy and her husband Reynold live in Bolton Landing. They have four children, Carrie, Christopher, Nicholas and Heather.
