Health requirements
Each student must have a physical examination for health certification prior to starting the program. This includes filling out a health questionnaire and either proof of or obtaining immunizations/vaccinations and/or booster shots, as well as the Hepatitis B series. A TB tine test must be done annually. All of this can be done either through the hospital’s Center for Occupational Health for a fee, or through the student’s own physician. The student will receive further information on this and instructions, upon their acceptance into the program. The flu and pneumonovax are available periodically at no charge to ensure the student’s continued health. While in attendance, the Emergency Care Center, Employee Assistance Program and other facilities operated by Glens Falls Hospital are available to the students for health and other job-related problems, accepting health insurance plans or other forms of payment. Each student must provide his or her own health insurance coverage, in the event the student becomes ill or is injured.

Safety
Radiation monitoring is provided for the student throughout the two years. The student’s monthly readings will be reviewed to insure proper radiation protection practices are being followed.
