DASH Diet Program

Studies have show that blood pressure can be lowered by healthy eating and lifestyle modifications.
The DASH Diet (Dietary Approached to Hypertension), which emphasizes consumption of fruits, vegetable, low fat dairy products, and low sodium may lower blood pressure within two weeks without the use of medication. The Renal Dietitians at Glens Falls Hospital offer this program to the community. Participants receive an overview of the DASH Diet, a risk assessment, recipes, and suggestions for setting goals and making lifestyle changes.
Classes are offered throughout the year and individuals are welcomed to call
the Glens Falls Hospital Nutrition Center at 518-926-2615 to register for classes. $20 class fee.
