Pat Spencer-Cisek, MS, RN, CS, ACCN, is the clinical director of The
Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital. She is a registered nurse, an
advanced practice nurse, a clinical nurse specialist and holds an advanced
certification in oncology nursing. Pat joined the Center in 1997 from the
prestigious M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, where she served as
director of the corporate cancer prevention program. Prior to that, she
was a clinical nurse specialist at the equally acclaimed Dana Farber
Cancer Institute in Boston.
“The
Cancer Center gave me the opportunity to raise our family in an area with
a high quality of life, and still allow me to practice the kind of cancer
care I believe in,” Pat says. “This Center offers a tremendous breadth
of services, and the staff is wonderful to work with.”
As clinical director, Pat works closely with the medical director,
Robert W. Sponzo, M.D., to coordinate the many programs and clinical
activities at the Center. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing
from Boston College, her master’s degree from Texas Women’s University
and conducted her post-master’s studies as a nurse practitioner at the
University of Texas at Houston. Pat and her husband Walter live in
Queensbury with their children, Emily and Christopher.
