Evergreen Health Center June 12 open house to
unveil renovations
CORINTH – Evergreen Health Center proudly invites the community to attend an
open house on Tuesday, June 12 to tour its recently completed $1 million
expansion project. The open house will be held from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at
Evergreen Health Center, 13 Palmer Avenue in Corinth.
The event will include a ribbon cutting and a brief memorial program at 5:30
p.m. to honor Jill White, the center’s long-time office manager who passed away
unexpectedly earlier this year.
The renovation adds slightly more than 2,700 square feet to the existing
4,400-square-foot building. The expansion project includes a new larger patient
lobby, including a pediatric waiting area, which is more than twice as large as
the previous lobby. The project boasts a physical therapy room nearly four times
larger than the previous space and three new patient exam rooms, including two
for specialists.
“We’re now able to accommodate patients in a more timely manner,” said Anne
Corey, MD, a provider at Evergreen Health Center.
The waiting area’s design, with two check-in windows and one check-out window,
affords patients more privacy. And providers have more privacy to dictate
patient cases and return phone calls, added Dr. Corey.
Just off the new waiting area, visitors will also find a new, slightly larger
conference room. Plans call for hosting community education events such as
smoking cessation programs and diabetes education support groups.
Located just behind the reception desk/business office, the medical records
office is more than three times larger than the previous space. Staff is also
taking advantage of all new x-ray and physical therapy equipment at their
disposal plus a larger break room.
The addition of a second entrance now allows easier access to treatment rooms in
those instances where patients require transport by ambulance, rather than
bringing patients through the entire length of the building. The x-ray room and
lab drawing station are now conveniently located near this new entrance as well.
The renovation includes other amenities and upgrades such as larger,
handicapped-accessible bathrooms, more storage space, a new HVAC system and some
furniture to complement the new Adirondack-themed interior design.
Handled by Adirondack Construction, the expansion project was made possible
through two Health Resources and Services Administration federal grants.
The event includes giveaways and light refreshments.
