The Snuggery to host Mother’s Day maternity show
May 20
GLENS FALLS – The Snuggery at
Glens Falls Hospital announces a free maternity show this May in
celebration of Mother’s Day.
Open to new and expectant parents, “The Snuggery: Where Every Day is Mother’s
Day” will be held on Sunday, May 20 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Wood Community
Learning Center, located on the Northwest Tower’s first floor across from the
Bistro.
Right from the start, Diane Kerchner, RN, director of Women’s and Children’s
Services, and her staff felt they touched upon an unmet need among local
merchants in the baby business to provide a forum to promote their products and
services.
“Based on feedback from folks we’ve contacted, an event of this nature is long
overdue,” said Kerchner. “New and expectant parents will discover a nice local
representation all under one roof.”
The maternity show will include vendor booths for the Snuggery’s Childbirth
Education Program, The Bistro, infant formula manufacturers Enfamil and Similac,
local photography studios Signature Studios and Craig Murphy Photography, Glens
Falls National Bank and Trust Company, children’s bookstore Dog Ate My Homework,
Kindermusik and Sterling and Company. Several area merchants, including KaBloom
of Queensbury, Scoville Jewelers, Achenbach’s Jewelers and Milk & Honey, also
agreed to donate door prizes.
The afternoon will also include informative demonstrations on scrap-booking,
infant massage, and yoga techniques. Great Expectations Maternity will hold a
maternity fashion show at 3 p.m. Glens Falls Police Department will conduct a
car seat clinic in the Northwest Tower parking lot. Snuggery staff will conduct
tours of the 22-bed maternity unit at 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
