Seven County Diabetes Network to sponsor diabetes program April 28
GLENS FALLS — To help people navigate the lifestyle changes and challenges
they face when diagnosed with diabetes, the Seven County Diabetes Network
presents “Diabetes: Putting It Together,” a free informational program on
Saturday, April 28 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Elizabethtown Social Center, 7626
Route 9, Elizabethtown. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
The program is taught by a Certified Diabetes Expert and local diabetes experts,
with presentations and interactive demonstrations on topics ranging from
diabetes basics, meal planning, medications and physical activity.
Light refreshments will be served. Attendees are encouraged to wear casual
attire. Family members are also welcome. To register, please call the Seven
County Diabetes Network at 1-800-965-5705 by Friday, April 20.
Made possible through a state Department of Health grant, the Seven County
Diabetes Network is a collaborative effort to target individuals at-risk for
diabetes throughout the primarily rural seven county region of Warren,
Washington, Saratoga, Essex, Hamilton, Franklin and Clinton counties. Under the
grant, the Network, with Glens Falls Hospital serving as the lead agency,
focuses on health care provider education, increasing community awareness of the
risks and complications of diabetes, organizing community educational forums and
recruiting additional network members.
