Clifton Park YMCA to host osteoporosis meeting
March 21
GLENS FALLS –
The Northeast Regional Osteoporosis Resource Center at
Glens Falls Hospital (NERORC) will sponsor an osteoporosis support
group meeting Wednesday, March 21 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Clifton Park
YMCA, 1 Wall Street.
Bob Collette, a physical therapist with 14 years of experience, including 10
years at Glens Falls Hospital’s Rehabilitation Center, will speak on “Balance
and Fall Prevention.”
The support group meets the third Thursday of the month and provides information
and education to those living with osteoporosis and looks to group members to
play an active role in planning and development to suit their needs.
NERORC provides state-of-the art screening services, educational programs and
prevention services in Saratoga, Warren, Washington, Essex, Clinton, Franklin
and Hamilton counties. NERORC works collaboratively with the Adirondack Regional
Osteoporosis Coalition (AdROC), health service providers, public health
departments, community based organizations, schools, nursing homes, and other
community resources to provide the community with the tools and knowledge
necessary to reduce the incidence of osteoporosis.
