Why:
|
The Landing of Queensbury is owned by the Wegman Family LLC and is operated by
the Emeritus Corporation. The Wegman family of Rochester, NY sought for an
opportunity to “give back” to the community and market that has supported them
through this gift to the community’s seniors. |
|
How: |
The Landing’s donation will support
Rehabilitation Services, specifically, to purchase a Lite Gait for the
Rehabilitation Center on Bay Road. Wearing a support harness positioned above a
treadmill, patients gradually can put weight on their lower extremities,
allowing the therapist to concentrate on observing and correcting the patient’s
gait pattern. The gift will also purchase five NuStep Recumbent Cross Trainers
to be used at the Bay Road facility and off-site locations in Corinth, Glens
Falls, Greenwich and Wilton. The Cross Trainers work all the major upper and
lower body muscle groups and simulate a natural walking motion while eliminating
undesirable joint stress and promoting functional fitness. |
