GLENS FALLS —Glens Falls Hospital took home the top honor as the No. 1 Great
Place to Work in the Capital Region during a recent awards luncheon hosted by
The Business Review.
The Hospital won in the “Over 501 Employees” category and was recognized at a
Dec. 7 luncheon at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Albany along with other nominees in
the category: Albany Medical Center, Key Bank, Community Care Physicians,
Saratoga Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital of Amsterdam. Glens Falls Hospital has
been nominated for the last three years and this year was ranked No. 1.
The award recognizes the organization’s achievements in creating a positive work
environment that attracts and retains employees through a combination of
benefits, working conditions and culture. The luncheon honored 30 organizations
both large and small for their commitment to creating outstanding workplaces.
More than 125 Capital District organizations entered the awards competition. The
award recognizes organizations in one of five categories based on company size.
“This honor marks a major milestone in this organization’s recent history,” said
David G. Kruczlnicki, president/CEO. “At Glens Falls Hospital, we recognize that
excellence rests with finding and retaining great people. This award is
confirmation that great people make a more fulfilling, rewarding work
environment for everyone. I congratulate all our employees and leaders on their
dedicated efforts.”
The Business Review launched its Great Places to Work program in 2004, annually
contacting more than 500 human resource managers and executives at organizations
throughout the 11-county Capital Region.
Organizations were evaluated on information collected from employees responding
to a Web-based survey that asked them to rate their organization in areas of
teamwork, leadership, communication, co-worker relationships, trust and human
resource practices. The results were analyzed and scored by assigning points to
each question.
Glens Falls Hospital is a 410-bed, not-for-profit, community hospital serving a
six-county region of northeastern New York. With more than 2,900 employees, it
is the largest health care provider between Albany and Montreal, offering
inpatient and outpatient care, including emergency care, medicine/surgery,
obstetrics, coronary care, cancer care, physical and occupational
rehabilitation, and community services.
