GLENS FALLS –
The Glens Falls Hospital Guild announces its
16th annual Tree of Lights holiday fundraiser.
In the coming weeks, the public is invited to purchase lights with heartfelt
messages for the tree that graces Glens Falls Hospital’s Northwest Tower
main lobby. Messages can include remembering someone special, honoring a
loved one or celebrating a new birth, just to name a few.
The fundraiser culminates with a tree-lighting ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 5
at 7 p.m., with the Queensbury High School Madrigal Singers, under the
direction of Penny Schiek, providing the evening’s entertainment.
Refreshments will also be served.
Donna Sutton, owner of
Sutton’s Marketplace in Queensbury, again will donate
and festively decorate this year’s tree in memory of her late husband Steve.
Sutton’s will also hold a raffle for a second 4-foot replica, valued at
$800. Those interested in participating in the raffle can visit Sutton’s,
1066 State Route 9, now through Friday, Dec. 15, where they can make a
suggested $8 Tree of Lights donation to enter the drawing. No purchase is
necessary, although participants must visit Sutton’s to submit their raffle
entry. The tree drawing will occur Friday, Dec.
15 at 5 p.m. For more raffle
information, contact Pete Carusone at Sutton’s Marketplace at (518) 798-0133
x243.
To purchase a light, either call the Glens Falls Hospital Volunteer Services
at (518) 926-2780 or stop by the Volunteer Services office, located on 2
East. Lights are $8 each. All proceeds benefit the ongoing projects of the
Glens Falls Hospital Guild.
