The Clinical Manager provides overall clinical and operational management in collaboration and consultation with the Nursing Director of the Emergency Department. Strong leadership, managerial skills, communication and collaborative skills are critical in order to provide quality patient care and an environment that fosters staff growth and satisfaction. The Clinical Manager is responsible for the management of human, material and fiscal resources to ensure the delivery of safe, quality patient focused care in the Emergency Department.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Directly supervises employees in the Emergency Department including the Patient Care Coordinators.
-Has delegated authority to make decisions regarding ED/Emergency operations on behalf of the Director.

Education/Experience:
-Graduation from a Registered Professional Nursing program
-3 years relevant clinical experience required
-5 years clinical experience preferred
-Previous nursing management experience preferred
-Bachelors Degree in Nursing or related field

Skills/Abilities:
-Ability to assume leadership role in nursing practice
-Ability to organize work, delegate effectively, and to assign, direct and evaluate the work of other employees
-Expert clinician in area of assignment including Triage and Express Care
-Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with nurses and other members of the interdisciplinary team
-Basic understanding of principles of performance improvement and use of data to improve outcomes
-Effective communication and conflict resolution skills

Licenses/Certificates/Registrations:
-Current license and registration to practice Registered Professional Nursing in New York State
-Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
-TNCC Certification preferred
-Certification of specialty organization preferred
