Emergency Services
Glens Falls Hospitals traditional emergency area has been renovated and expanded
with specialized areas for trauma, cardiac, pediatric, womens health, orthopedic,
eye injury, behavioral health and all medical emergencies.
In addition to ExpressCare and the Clinical Decision Unit, the Emergency Care Center
provides 14 private rooms for more seriously ill patients. Six critical care rooms are
designed for state-of-the-art treatment of major trauma and eight rooms are designated for
intermediate care. All rooms have cardiac monitoring so that patients with chest pain can
receive intervention immediately, including "clot busters for those suffering
from heart attack. Two clinical rooms are designed for children, providing soft lighting
and rocking chairs where parents can provide comfort.
