the Regional Diabetes Center of Glens Falls Hospital offers
Diabetes Drop-In Days
to encourage an awareness of good diabetes
control among people with diabetes
and their families,
Community residents with diabetes are be able to take advantage of free
blood pressure checks, BMI/waist circumference checks, glucose meter calibrations and foot screenings.
Participants can chat with certified diabetes educators,
learn about the latest advances in diabetes self-management concepts and
technologies as well as take home
information on various aspects of diabetes
care.
Each day approximately 2,200 people are diagnosed with diabetes, according to
the American Diabetes Association. Although diabetes is a chronic disease that
has no cure, people with diabetes can still live normal, productive lives by
managing the disease.
