A scenic view of
nearby Lake George |
Glens Falls Hospital is located in northeastern New
York, 50 miles north of Albany, New York's state capital and just south
of the expansive Adirondack State Park. The area affords its residents a
host of recreational and cultural opportunities. Outdoor enthusiasts can
enjoy hiking, mountain biking, skiing and boating in nearby Lake George
or venture to the more remote regions of the Adirondack Mountains.
Patrons of the arts can visit The Hyde Museum and Chapman Museum's
impressive collections or attend a theatrical production at the new
300-seat Wood Theatre in downtown Glens Falls. For the sports nut, the
North Country is home to professional minor league hockey (Adirondack
Frostbite), New York Collegiate Baseball League (Glens Falls Golden
Eagles) and semi-professional football (Glens Falls Greenjackets) To the south, Saratoga Springs serves as the summer
home to the New York City Ballet and Philadelphia Orchestra, as well as
thoroughbred and harness racetracks. Glens Falls and its surrounding
towns also provide modern schools, libraries, parks, social, fraternal
and cultural organizations.
