Glens Falls is located at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, just between Saratoga Springs and Lake George - some of the nation’s premier vacation destinations. Lake Placid, home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics and center of the High Peaks is just 1.5 hours north. We are only a short distance from several major metropolitan areas; it is approximately a 3.5-hour drive to NYC, Boston, and Montreal.

This area has a particular draw for the outdoorsman. I personally enjoy the photographic outings I have done and there always seems to be an enjoyable hike, either long or short that can be done by any skill level. Not to mention the water sports and winter sports. Another draw to the area is the four seasons. Anyone who enjoys four seasons will love this area. Finally, the access to several major metropolitan areas is a fantastic escape that anyone could do in one to two days.

After training in Colorado, my husband (a pediatrician) and I ranked the various locations that we were interested in moving to and the Glens Falls area came out clearly on top. We needed water, mountains, and culture and the Glens Falls area offers them all. Everything is so accessible and livable. You can have large acreage or live on a beautiful lake and get to work in 15 minutes. Other places you would be 2 hours from work if you lived in an area like this. The Adirondack Park, Lake George, Gore Mountain, and Whiteface – all are so close and hassle free to get to. There are so many lakes to enjoy and mountains to hike – we’ll never run out of places to go. SPAC, great restaurants, museums, there is so much to do here.

I first came to this area many years ago on a vacation to the Adirondacks. It’s a beautiful area with so much to do…the lakes in the summer and the skiing in the winter…we fell in love with the area. The reasons that we stay here include the great quality of life that this area provides for. It’s an affordable and safe place to live and raise a family. There is plenty to do here – both outdoor and cultural activities. We have access to so many things within a short distance. Great skiing and lakes within a 30-minute drive, 3 hours to cities like New York and Boston, and a culturally rich environment right here…what else could you want?

What can we say; people around here are just friendly! People say hello at the grocery store, help shovel their neighbor’s driveway, hold the door for you, say please and thank you, and bring you a plate of brownies when you move in next door! Now it’s not Mayberry, but we are nicknamed “Hometown USA”!

The entire staff was extremely professional, courteous, caring and attentive to patient and family. Both my husband and I cannot say enough good things about everyone on staff.
The medical treatment I received and the ER staff is on par with a big city hospital. Everyone went out of their way to provide high quality caring treatment and it really eased my fears at a tough time.
She is an outstanding LPN. Her compassion not only for my mom, but for my sister and I was amazing. Her willingness to help all of us was above and beyond without ever compromising her duties and boundaries as a nurse. Because of her, our stay was as pleasant an experience as we could hope for. Our sincere gratitude to her.
Excellent care from beginning to end. The doctors and nurses were friendly, courteous and made me feel completely at ease. They were very helpful and informative. The most pleasant ER experience I've ever had - thank you!
