Community Health Screening VanThe Community Health Screening Van program was established in 1989 to help remove geographic and financial barriers that may impede women from accessing cancer screenings. Since the program's inception, nearly 30,000 screenings have been performed. The Van makes screenings as accessible as possible to women by bringing the service to their local community or workplace. This is especially important for women in outlying portions of the hospital’s five-county, 3,000-square-mile service area who may find it difficult or even impossible to travel to Glens Falls for these services. Women who are uninsured or under-insured may receive screenings at no charge to them, through the Hospital’s participation in the New York State Healthy Living Partnership. The Van currently visits 89 different sites, from businesses to community centers, on an annual basis. The comprehensive screening service currently offered includes:
