School-Based Education Programs
"Woman to Women" Breast and Cervical Cancer EducationFor: Women age 40 and older Program Goal: The program's goal is to increase participant's knowledge of breast and cervical cancer screening and thus increase utilization of breast and cervical cancer screening measures by women. Program Description: This education program includes information on: mortality and morbidity of breast cancer; benefits of early detection; review and identification of risk factors; American Cancer Society Guidelines for breast self-examinations; clinical breast exams; and Mammographies.
Cervical Cancer AwarenessFor: Women age 20 and older, and those under 20 who are sexually active Program Goal: To increase womens knowledge regarding cervical cancer screening, and improve their compliance with present screening guidelines. Program Description: The program provides information on: mortality and morbidity of cervical cancer; benefits of early detection; identification and review of risk factors; and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology Screening Guidelines.
Skin Cancer Awareness ProgramFor: All adults Program Goal: To increase public awareness of the dangers of over exposure to the sun and methods of prevention to reduce the risk of skin cancer. Program Description: This program provides information on: incidence and causes of skin cancer; risk factors; types of skin cancer; skin cancer prevention for adults and children; and self examinations.
Healthy Living Series on Prostate and Colorectal CancerFor: Adults age 50 and older Program Goal: To provide education on prostate and colorectal cancer and increase utilization of prostate and colorectal cancer screening. Program Description: This program provides information on: anatomy/physiology of the colon, rectum and prostate; signs and symptoms of colorectal and prostate cancer; risk factors; detection tools, including fecal occult blood tests, PSA blood tests and digital rectal examinations; and screening guidelines.

| This 15-minute program provides information on protective sun measures and incorporates the use of a mannequin for instruction on appropriate attire. |
Grades 4-5
| This 20-minute program uses role playing exercises to provide information on sun safety measures, and includes a brief discussion of ozone layer depletion. |
Junior & Senior High
| This 45-minute program provides information on the incidence of skin cancer, risk factors, types of skin cancer, prevention and sun safety measures. |
