Lifeline
Lifeline is a 24-hour emergency response system that calls for help
from anywhere in the home when an individual cannot reach their
telephone.
Lifeline can summons an ambulance, police, fire department, family
member or friend, in the event of an injury, illness or worsening
medical condition.
The user wears a small "help" button on a wristband or
necklace and pushes it when they need help. A certified monitor
will respond by speaking directly to the individual through their
Lifeline unit. The monitor will send the help requested. If
the monitor cannot make voice contact they will dispatch a family member
or friend, (called a responder) to check on the individual. If
responders are not available, the monitor will then contact the
emergency personnel for that area to determine if help is needed.
